Graco Stroller Recall Update and Model Numbers Affected – Graco had instructed a recall of two of their old stroller products following the news that they have caused the death of at least four infants.
The Graco Stroller recall was also posted on the official website of Graco and states:
The safety of your child is of utmost importance to Graco®. From time to time, we will issue communications to alert parents to a potential safety issue or recall; providing information on what steps, if any, you should take to ensure the safety of the affected product. If you have registered a product with Graco®, either on this Web site or by mailing in a card, we will contact you at the address to which you’ve registered the product. So please make sure the information you enter is accurate and be sure to update it if it changes.
About 2 million strollers will be affected by the Graco Stroller recall. Among the products that will be affected are Graco Quattro Tour and MetroLite strollers and travel systems which were produced before 2007.
Graco Stroller recall was also being done per a recall order issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. In the recall statement, the commission noted that four children died as a result of becoming trapped while in the strollers. They added that problems can occur if the infants are not strapped into the stroller properly, increasing the risk of them falling through the gap between the food tray and the seat.
For owners of Graco Strollers, please check if your model number is listed on the Graco Stroller Recall as this affects Quattro Tour or MetroLite stroller. The complete list of model numbers can be found here.
